Beşiktaş Football Club is currently addressing serious allegations involving two of its key players, goalkeeper Ersin Destanoğlu and captain Necip Uysal. The duo has been embroiled in a betting scandal, sparking significant discussions within the Süper Lig and raising questions about professional conduct.
Following the emergence of these claims, Beşiktaş released an official statement on its website. The club’s announcement aimed to clarify its position regarding Destanoğlu and Uysal, indicating its engagement with the situation and its commitment to transparency and integrity in the face of such serious accusations.
Both Ersin Destanoğlu and Necip Uysal have vehemently denied any involvement in betting activities. Necip Uysal, one of the Beşiktaş captains, who has been referred to the Turkish Football Federation's Disciplinary Committee (PFDK) in connection with the claims, explicitly stated that the allegations of him placing bets are entirely false. Destanoğlu also firmly rejected the accusations, asserting their innocence as the matter now proceeds for review by the PFDK.
